Leo Smith and Sarah Weber Smith
Class of '67 and '69
Sarah and I are going on 39 years now. She has not run me off yet but I do keep her thinking about it all the time. Sarah and I have two daughters—Katherine (Katie) Chandelle Smith now 25 and Kari Allison Smith now 22 yrs. Our girls live in Athens, Georgia—they have gone to the Dawgs.
We met in school, however she would not date me then (said I was a smartass—can you believe that?). We met again when she was a senior and started dating. We dated for about a year and then got married on the 31st day of July 1970.
Jack Weatherly and Bill Smith were standing with me in the wedding and Janice McCullah was at Sarah's side. It was 97º in St. Patrick's Church on Broward Road that day.
We left the church in a 1960 Chevy Impala convertible. What a time we had. We spent the next week on the lake and in St. Augustine just having FUN.
