A Farewell From Dwight

Thank everyone for coming and best wishes for everyone unable to attend.

I have been so blessed.  I was born in 1949 to two loving families who raised me to love and care for family and friends and to be there when they needed me.

I was also blessed with friends who together gave me more than I could ever give them.  This has been the pattern of my life.  I have always picked out some of the the finest people to be my friends.  They have been there when I needed them and I have tried to be there when they needed me.

God turned around and gave me an angel for a wife.  Not saying that we didn't have our ups and downs , but we always had them together.  She also gave me two beautiful sons who I am proud of every day.

My friends have taught me to dive under the ocean, fly above the trees, play racquetball, coach and referee soccer, and to hit a damn golf ball.  Three things I have learned about golf.  1.  Hit the ball.  2. Drive the cart.  3.  Drink lots of beer.  I am good at two out of the three!

To my children I have given my weird sense of humor; their mother gave them their command of the English language.

As you know, I am already in Heaven partying and having a good time.  Please take this time to talk about the good and bad times among each other.

I truly hope you leave here today with a little smile.  Take care of each other and God Bless.

I want to thank all of my friends and co-workers who have gone beyond the call of friendship in supporting me through my illness.  I truly love you all.

Thanks to the Class of '67 and their spouses for allowing them to come visit and to correspond from all over the country.  The bumper stickers gave me such pleasure.

Above all, thank God for his blessings and this wonderful life.

Can't wait to see you all again.
