Karen Suggs Herda, age 64, passed away January 5, 2014 as a result of heart failure. Karen was born November 5, 1949 in Jacksonville, FL to Charles Dillion Suggs and Jessie Thomas Suggs. As a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, Karen retired after 33 years from the City of Jacksonville Clerk of Courts. Karen was a graduated of Ribault High School class of '67. She was an active volunteer for the Tournament Players Championship, and served as past treasurer of the Gator Club of Jacksonville. Karen had a great passion for the Florida Gators Athletics and loved her cat Tebow. She will be missed dearly by many friends and family. Karen was preceded in death by her brother Randall (Randy) Dillion Suggs, and survived by her parents, son Mike Griffin, brother Charles Perry Suggs (Betty), fiance' Randall Brown, a nephew, many nieces, and several great nieces and nephews. Viewing will be located at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 5753 Blanding Blvd, Wednesday January 8, 2014 from 10-11:30 AM. Graveside services will be held immediately following at Macedonia Cemetery in MacClenny, FL.
